What is 10DLC and How Blink Voice Helps You with Texting Setup
10DLC (10-Digit Long Code) is the industry standard for business texting using a local phone number. Due to new FCC regulations, all businesses that send text messages must now register their numbers to remain compliant and ensure proper message delivery.
This registration is designed to:
-
Prevent spam and fraud
-
Allow customers to opt in or out of communications
-
Improve overall message deliverability and trustworthiness
🚫 Why You Might Not Be Able to Send Texts Right Now
If your phone number hasn’t been registered under 10DLC, you won’t be able to send outbound texts. However, you can still receive messages while the registration is in progress.
The approval process typically takes 3 to 5 business days, depending on carrier response times.
✅ What Blink Voice Does to Help
To make this as smooth as possible, our Blink Voice Provisioning Team handles the entire registration process for you. Here's what we do:
-
Review: We confirm which of your numbers require texting access.
-
Register: Our team submits your business details, texting use cases, and message samples for 10DLC compliance.
-
Activate: Once approved, we enable texting services for your number.
-
Support & Updates: We’ll keep you informed throughout the process and let you know as soon as outbound texting is active.
This process ensures that your messages are not filtered or blocked by carriers and that you're fully compliant with FCC and carrier guidelines.
📬 While You Wait
-
You can still receive incoming text messages.
-
