📢 Important Update: Temporary Softphone App Instructions for Blink Voice Users

Due to recent issues reported with the Comet BV 2.0 app, we are providing a temporary alternative for calling: the Blink Voice Softphone app.

These issues appear to affect certain device or network configurations and do not impact all users. As we work towards launching Comet 3.0 in 2025–2026, this softphone will ensure uninterrupted phone service in the meantime.

📲 Step-by-Step: Download & Log In to the Blink Voice Softphone

1. Download the App:

• Android (Google Play Store)

2. Log In with Your Credentials:

• Username: [e-mail]@BVC
  (Make sure to add @BVC at the end of your existing username)
  
  
• Password: Use the same password as your original app login
  
  

🔧 Key Features and Notes

• Calling Only: The Softphone is strictly for making and receiving calls.
  
  
• Texting & Voicemail:
  Use the Comet BV 2.0 app or the Comet portal to send/receive texts.
  
  
• One App at a Time:
  While both apps can technically run at once, we recommend logging into only one app at a time to prevent missed calls or software conflicts.
  
  
  • Use the Softphone for calling.
    
    
  • Use Comet 2.0 for texting when needed.
    
    

📞 Call Features

• ✅  Inbound and Outbound Calling
• ✅ Transfers: Working as expected
  
  
• ✅ Voicemail: Now active
  
  
• ✅ Extension-to-Extension Calling: Fully supported
  
  
• 🔁 Call Parking:
  Use extensions 41–44 to park and retrieve calls.
  
  
  • To park: Transfer the active call to ext. 41–44
    
    
  • To retrieve: Simply dial or answer ext. 41–44 from another device
    
    
  • Note: A dedicated “Park” button is not yet available, but will be added in a future update.
